Graduating from the University of Auckland in 2003 Renee first worked in Taupo which plenty of interesing eye diseases and management of cases with ophthalmologists.  A very challenging first job inspired her interest in pathology.

It also saw her develop an interest in cycling, partaking in the Great Lake Cycle Challenge for many years.

A 3 year hiatus from optometry saw Renee pack her back pack for some interesting travel experiences where she worked as a tour manager for Contiki Holidays throughout Europe.

Settling back into New Zealand life Renee joined McClellan Grimmer in 2010 after a stint at another local practice and is so far enjoying Wellington such that she became a partner in 2013.

Eleisha is passionate about Optometry, coming to McClellan Grimmer Edgar with extensive experience in specialty contact lenses including Orthokeratology (OrthoK), Keratoconus and children’s contact lenses.

Eleisha is a Therapeutically qualified Optometrist, graduating from The University of Auckland in 2007 with honours. She now continues to spend time furthering her knowledge and with her passion for OrthoK she studied to achieve her Fellowship for the International Academy of OrthoK and Myopia control in 2016. In her spare time she also contributes to the specialty contact lens and Optometry profession, as the Vice President for the Cornea and Contact Lens Society and the Wellington Branch Chair of the New Zealand Association of Optometrists.

Caring for her patients, to ensure they gain the knowledge they need about their eye health, is what motivates her as an Optometrist. When not in the Optometry clinic you may see her at a park or beach with a toddler, or even doing a handstand challenge or two.

Bill McClellan

Hmm the last testament.

Guess who

But now he’s history!

Having sold his share of the Practice to Renee as mentioned above, and done a few years of occasional days he left the practice for good at the end of 2016. He observes;

“ It has been a wonderful forty six years. Ups and downs, stock market crash, global financial crises and the eternal hassles of tenancies.

During that time I have had wonderful staff, superior Optometrists to work with, among them two fine partners. The first, Bob Cocks when I joined Cocks and Newall, and then his successor the inimitable Peter Grimmer. I have been very fortunate.

I am left however with the greatest satisfaction of all, the memory of the hundreds of neat people  who have “sat in my chair” over those years.

I was blessed to get to know many of you as time passed, and grow up and older with so many of you, your parents, your children.

Thank you and good fortune to all of you. You are the stuff of my memories.

However your needs probably persist, and it is with absolute confidence and not a little pride that I leave you to the ministrations of Peter, Renee, Shannon and their great staff. They all continue to improve the standard of care and attention that attracted me to this Practice those years ago.”
